In France, it is possible for an employee to receive tax-free compensation for their expenses so long as they serve a professional purpose. If an employee can provide evidence of these business expenses, they will be able to receive compensation within the limits enforced by the French government.

This tax-free compensation applies to costs such as commuting for a business purpose, business trips, and working from home. Employees can also instead choose to benefit from a 10% flat-rate deduction to apply to the professional expenses they have incurred as opposed to reimbursement for actual expenses.
